Metal Sculptures in Sintering - Elli Groninger Woodward
is the Center's resident artist who focuses her activity on developing new artist mediums in powdered metals and applying them professionally. Her work when contrasted with the engineering products that are sintered illustrates the breadth of innovative products that make use of this technology. As an artist, she is responsible for creating the designs (artistic sketches), designing and forming the molds, selecting the combinations of powders, and specifying the sintering process that captures the artistic impression that she is trying to convey. She has created small sculptures, as well as functional pieces such as wine bottle cork tops.
