2001 Lectures

Students met on a weekly basis for lunch and conversation. Here the students would discuss reading material from "The Evolution of Useful Things" and "To Engineer is Human" by Henry Petroski.

Occasionally, there would be a guest lecturer on various topics. Topics included library research methods, critiquing research papers, sintering topics, intellectual property, rapid prototyping, numerical modeling, powder injection molding, showing results with statistics, and art.

One of the guest lecturer's was Fletcher Byrom. He has served on the boards and advisory boards of many Fortune 500 companies and helped found the National Science Foundation. Pictures from Mr. Byrom's lecture are shown.
